Vacuum Nitriding Furnaces

Vacuum Nitriding Furnaces

Vacuum nitriding furnaces can be used for nitriding or nitrocarburizing under vacuum for tool and mold making, mechanical drive parts, gear parts, shafts and other high-precision components.

Characteristics

  • stainless steel retort
  • Rinse under vacuum to 5×10-2 mbar
  • Reactive atmosphere for thermochemical processes such as gas nitriding, bronzing (black oxidize) or nitrocarburizing
  • High internal convection for optimal heat transfer
  • temperature uniformity better than ± 2°C
  • Fully automatic control for various heat treatment recipes

The nitriding process is a chemical reaction and the result is mainly determined by temperature, furnace pressure, time, nitrogen potential, gas composition, etc.. In the past, the indirect method was used to control nitrogen, which is to measure the ammonia decomposition rate, but has a pronounced hysteresis and allows only a small automation. By using the H2 sensor of company Stange, Sistem Teknik could solve this problem of the gas measurement for its vacuum nitriding furnaces. In addition, the high-end program controller are also utilized to calculate the H2% stake and adjust the gas composition automatically in order to reach a Kn balance.
